About me.

I am a teacher of Modern Foreign Languages. I have had leadership posts in Pastoral middle management and in Teaching and Learning and I currently enjoy working with new teachers and PGCE students. Over my years in the classroom I have refined the concept of Positive Teaching, which started as a set of behaviour management techniques, and I now regard it as a philosophical approach which can be applied to all areas of school life, from planning lessons to school leadership. I’ve been talking to many of my colleagues in school and to the PGCE students and NQTs I meet about my approach. They, and the SLT at my school, will attest that I am passionate about spreading the word about Strictly Positive Teaching. Now I am keen to share my ideas with as many as I can of my peers in other schools in the hope that they might find it as useful and rewarding as I do.

  1. HI,

I recently read your blog and I would like to ask if you would be interested in writing anything for our education blog at RealiseMe. We are a teacher’s careers and community site with an extensive blog, written by teachers, for teachers. You can take a look at our blog here: https://blog.realiseme.com/blog/

We love getting teachers and TAs to blog on their experiences, personal teaching stories, tips and advice or education views. I understand teachers have very busy lives so there’s no pressure, whether it’s a one-off post to share your thoughts or becoming a regular contributor. Please let me know if you would be interested, I’d love to hear from you.

    Kind Regards,

    1. Hi Chloe,

Sorry for the delay. Your blog looks great and it’s so nice to see the contribution of LSAs and TAs explicitly appreciated. I want to do a lot more about those unsung heroes of the classroom! Yes, I’d love to write for your blog. I have just left teaching, so I couldn’t pretend that I’m still in that environment, but only a few months after leaving it’s still fresh in my mind! Do you want me just to write something or do you want to give me something specific to discuss?

      Thanks for getting in touch.

Great to hear from you and glad you are interested in writing for us! It may be better to speak over email- do you have an email I can contact?
